Museum Gala to feature rarely seen oil portrait
Attendees of this year's Aviation Museum Gala can view a rarely seen oil portrait of Lt. Jean Grenier on loan from the Manchester Historic Association. Grenier, a Queen City native and pilot, was killed in a 1934 plane crash while scouting airmail routes for the U.S. Army. In 1942, the newly established U.S. Army air base in Manchester was named in Grenier's honor. With a theme of 'We Will Remember,' the Gala is Friday, Oct. 13 from 5 to 9 p.m. at the DoubleTree by Hilton in downtown Manchester. Learn more about the Grenier portrait, or buy tickets online or by calling (603) 669-4877.
